Bethie, this will be a great way to communicate and see where you are and what you're doing! What a wonderful idea! It should help my "withdrawal attacks" and allow me a "Beth-fix" when needed!
Make the most of your time there . . . and PLEASE be careful!!! You're the only "Little Bit" I have! God bless you! I love you with all my heart! Mommy

Yahoo!!! I applaud you! Travelling and living abroad is an experience few get (especially at your age). So you are luckier than most anyone you will ever meet. You'll gain a perspective your friends "back in the States" will NEVER be able grasp. Congratulations, and thanks for letting me "in" sort of speak. So I will be keeping an "eye" on you (I'm so funny!!!!) Cheers and pardon my French, Bon Voyage! Uncle Dave

This is, indeed, las adventuras de Becca y Beth; however, I hope they will not mind if I give the first up-date!
After a number of teary good-byes to family, friends, and boyfriends we began the adventure this AM by heading for JFK airport. The girls were so cute on the ride up to NY! They went from "it hasn't sunk in yet that we're really going to Spain!" to "it's so exciting that we're really going to Spain!" to "Oh My Gosh, I'm nervous--We're really going to Spain!"
We made good time on the road and, fortunately, got a parking space right outside the terminal. We walked up to baggage check-in 20-minutes ahead of schedule! Check-in went smoothly - no line! Then we took the airtrain to another terminal to get some lunch. It cost Beth $80 to purchase 50-Euros!
:(
We got back over to the terminal the girls were leaving from about an hour before boarding. Then it was time to send them on their way! I amazed myself at how well I did! We were a little teary-eyed, but I think we had gotten most of it out of our systems before we hit the road! The girls didn't realize it, but Katie and I watched 'til they were through security and out of sight. Beth & Katie texted until Beth had to turn off her phone. Beth told Katie that at the gate they met another girl staying at the same house in Spain, so they got caught up in conversation and excitement!
Now they are somewhere over the ocean blue! They have a non-stop flight and should arrive about 0200 EDT (0700 Madrid time.) Hopefully, they are sleeping right about now because they were worn out from emotion and lack of sleep!
I'll let them tell the story from here! I can't wait for the next chapter!
